Description

The Chief Electrician will work alongside the Venue Manager and Production Manager to manage and run the Mamma Mia! The Party Electrics department to ensure building and show remain in the best condition.

Tasks & responsibilities:

The Chief Electrician will provide services on an exclusive basis and shall include, but will not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Working with the Production and Venue teams to achieve the needs of both department 
  • Completing show duties as required for the production.
  • Maintenance of the Production Lighting, including cleaning and maintenance 
  • To operate and maintain the pyrotechnics, including ordering and stock management, training of new staff and maintenance.
  • Representing the company when liaising with suppliers, such as White Light, Amberspehere, Quantum
  • Operate lighting systems during performances and rehearsals.
  • Deliver a Maintenance and Inspection regime for all technical infrastructure including arranging inspections, analyzing maintenance and reporting
  • To manage and monitor the buildings temperature controls (BMS) to ensure the Taverna is the correct temperatures for the show.
  • Schedule and manage the venue electrics team, to ensure smooth running of the department, venue, and production.
  • Assist with creating a high-performance culture in the team; setting clear objectives, providing ongoing training and feedback, identifying relevant training for the team, and ensuring they are actively engaged.
  • Lead in advance planning of any production/ venue changes from a technical perspective.
  • Conduct annual PAT testing and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Lead in a pro-active manner to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the venue remains a first-class venue for both staff and guests.
  • Liaise with facilities contractors to ensure all maintenance services are carried out to maintain legal compliance.
  • Attend rehearsals as scheduled by the Stage Management team.
  • Take an active part in the daily set build and training.
  • To liaise and cooperate at all times with the management, security and accessibility teams for the 02 being aware at all times of the requirements and obligations of the lease agreement.
  • Attending publicity calls and performing other related duties as required by senior management.
  • Attend meetings as may be requested by the Venue Manager or Production Manager
  • Being available on a consultation basis at reasonable times throughout the duration of your employment.
  • To be responsible, alongside the Venue Manager, for the recruitment, induction, development and training, supervision, and line management of Lighting team.
  • To be responsible for drawing up of staff schedules, alongside the Stage Manager and Venue Manager.
  • To carry out regular checks ensuring all spaces, internal and external, all fittings, equipment and resources are well maintained, clean, and in good working order, and to take appropriate action when they are not. 
  • To be responsible for the security of the venue tools inventory and conduct regular checks.
  • Work with the Catering Manager and Stage Manager to ensure that the back of house, kitchens and public areas of the building are always presented in the best way possible in terms of cleanliness, general maintenance and health and safety.
  • To take responsibility of open and close checks of the building. Including but not limited to Venue Entrances/ Exits, Compound Gates, Security Systems, House Lights.
  • To promote the venue’s health and safety policy in conjunction with current health & safety legislations and ensure that all members of staff are trained in and comply with emergency and safety procedures.
  • Follow the correct emergency, evacuation safety, risk assessment and incident procedures as outlined in the Mamma Mia! The Party safety and security policies. 
  • Partake in any workplace related training as required by Venue Operations Manager/ Production Manager including but not limited to Fire Awareness Training, Working at Height, First Aid at Work.
  • To report any production related issues to the Production Manager for further discussion / action.
  • To keep up to date records of checks and maintenance in the venue. 
  • Carry out any other duties that may arise to fulfil the main objectives of
