Whether you’re looking for theatre roles regionally and in the West End, or searching for other performer opportunities, knowing where to find auditions as an actor, dancer or singer can be hard, particularly if you don’t have an agent. The Stage and The Stage Jobs have listed auditions in the UK and beyond for decades; here is our advice on how to find auditions.
Register on websites that list auditions and casting calls
Productions will often advertise auditions on jobs or casting sites. Many of these will be open auditions that anyone can attend. If you don’t have representation through an agent, open auditions are perfect for you.
Create an account on jobs and casting websites and check them on a regular basis. Audition listings might not stay up long if the casting director is seeking a last-minute role or receives a high volume of applications, so it’s important to be consistent. Some casting sites require a monthly subscription, whereas other platforms are free to use.
It is completely free to use The Stage Jobs. We have a dedicated category for auditions held up and down the UK. These auditions can range from West End productions and regional theatre shows, to performer jobs at holiday centres, on cruises and for seasonal work, such as scare actors at theme parks.

On The Stage Jobs, you can turn on tailored job alerts. These job alerts can be set up for the auditions category on our website, or you can create job alerts for any criteria you’re looking for, such as ‘West End audition’ or ‘national tour audition’. Once you have job alerts set up, you will be sent an email when a new audition is posted.
Follow accounts on social media
Social media is another great tool when searching for theatre and performer auditions. As a theatre professional, you likely spend some time each day scrolling through your social media platforms, keeping up with theatre news and connecting with other industry professionals. Why not combine this with your audition search?
Production companies and casting directors often share social media posts when they are holding auditions. Jobs platforms will also post new auditions on their social channels on a daily basis. Make sure to follow key accounts, including jobs platforms, casting directors and production companies you are interested in working for. To ensure you never miss an audition, enable notifications from these profiles.
