Description

BH Live is recruiting for a Technical Production Manager to work a varied schedule across two buildings with six venues, including an arena, art-deco ballroom, and a 1500-seater proscenium theatre.  The post requires the postholder to be a passionate and experienced Technical Production Manager who will lead our technical team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of every show and event. You will work closely with other departments, customers and clients to ensure the smooth running of a multi venue environment.

Located in beautiful Bournemouth on the south coast, surrounded by stunning beaches and a vibrant town with shops, eateries, and attractions, Bournemouth International Centre and Pavilion Theatre are vibrant multi space venues hosting a diverse range of productions, conferences, and events.

You will:

  • Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the technical department, scheduling and client meetings. 
  • Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with clients, producers, and artistic teams to plan and execute technical aspects of productions and events.
  • Health & Safety: Prioritise the health and safety of staff and guests by ensuring adherence to all regulations and procedures. Ensure all aspects of H&S are adhered to and that the team is compliant in all aspects of H&S
  • Team Development: Lead, motivate, and train a team of technical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Production Development: Stay ahead of the curve by researching and implementing new technologies to enhance our offerings as well as offering customers and clients in house technical provision.
  • Problem-Solving: Think on your feet and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to ensure seamless productions and events.

To be successful you will need:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a theatre or conference environment. 
  • Strong understanding of event production and operations, including audio, lighting, video and stage technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Passion for technology and a willingness to embrace new advancements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think on your feet under pressure.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working with Current RMS, AutoCAD or similar and other relevant Software packages.
  • IPAF / Forklift and any height safety accreditation.
